Freelance photojournalist Chris Usher was selected by the White House Education Committee as the recipient of the WHNPA 2006 Project Grant for his work on “One of Us: Portraits & Interviews of Hurricane Katrina’s America”. Chris photographed and interviewed at least one evacuee from each state in the country, including Alaska and Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

FOTOWEEK DC 2008 is NOVEMBER 15 - 22
FOTOWEEK DC is a week long celebration of photography. There is a contest which WHNPA members can enter for a chance of winning some of the $37,000 in prizes and equipment. The entry deadline is September 29th . Members interested in participating should consult the fotoweek website at www.fotoweekdc.org
WHNPA Picnic
The picnic was an outstanding success. A great location, a fantastic band, and a perfect summer evening attracted WHNPA members. Everyone had a wonderful evening.
Directions to the cookout
Park on K Street, East of Key Bridge, or walk across the bridge from the Rosslyn metro. Water Street is the continuation of K Street under the Whitehurst Freeway just beyond Key Bridge.
