President Bush’s chief of staff, Andy Card, whispers into the ear of the president telling him of the plane crashes into the World Trade Center in New York. Card told Bush, “Mr. President, a second aircraft has hit the World Trade Center; America is under attack.” The president was visiting the Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Fla.
