Fulbright Fellow (Senior Scholar) Vivian Ronay will be in based in Cairo for four months, affiliated with American University in Cairo (AUC). She will be traveling outside of Cairo shooting Coptic and Greek Orthodox monasteries as well as certain Islamic festivals and mosques. Then she goes to Jerusalem to teach at Hadassah College and to re-visit sites shot previously with super grainy film (all work is done with available light) as well as places new to the project. Vivian teaches a seminar on ‘photography projects’ and so it fits whether the students are interested in documentary/photoj or do work closer to fine art. She is scheduling in a month of extra time after the Fulbright and will decide whether to visit some sites either east of the Arabian Peninsula or a few sites in Europe to fill out this body of work. If anyone has contacts in Teheran, please contact Vivian. This project is featured online at http://www.ronayphoto.com
