IPC Names Recipients of 2007 Professional Photographer Leadership Awards

New York, NY— The International Photographic Council (IPC), a non-governmental organization of the United Nations, will present the 9th annual IPC Professional Photographer Leadership Awards at the UN on May 10. The awards are presented at a special luncheon each May, designated International Professional Photographer’s Month by the IPC. Laurent Dartoux, general manager, Film Capture Business, and vice president, Film Products Group, Eastman Kodak, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker. The winners are selected by each of five pro photography organizations from among their members: the Advertising Photographers of America (APA); the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP); the Professional Photographers of America (PPA); the Professional School Photographers Association International (PSPA); and the White House News Photographers Association (WHNPA). Each organization decides which of their members receives the award based on standards they use within their organization. The 2007 IPC Professional Photographer Leadership Award recipients are as follows: APA, David Langley; ASMP, Susan Carr; PPA, Robert D. Lloyd; PSPA, James Fletcher; and WHNPA, John Harrington. Luncheon reservations are due by April 26, 2007. Contact Priscilla Chu at 631-845-2700, x 341; priscilla.chu@cygnuspub.com.
