Film and Discussion
Every day, more than a billion of us see dramatic Associated Press-credited photographs in newspapers and magazines and on the Internet. Deadline Every Second goes behind the scenes as 12 of the world’s top AP photographers gather breaking stories, from 9/11 and clashes in the Middle East to fires threatening Santa Barbara and cyclists racing in the Tour de France; from one photojournalist’s wounds in a suicide bombing in Pakistan to another’s imprisonment for his coverage in Iraq. In this impressive, action-packed film, the photographers and their editors share the stories behind the global headlines. Ken Kobré—filmmaker, award-winning photojournalist and author, and head of the photojournalism program at San Francisco State University—leads a discussion with several AP staffers after the screening.
