National Gallery of Art - Upcoming exhibition“The Serial Portrait: Photography and Identity in the Last One Hundred Years,” features approximately 150 works by 20 photographers who responded to the older portrait conventions and imagined new ones by exploring the same subjects - primarily friends, family, and themselves - over the course of days, months, or decades.

FotoDC Advisory Board Member and photographer, Hannele Lahti,  recently traveled abroad to Newfoundland where she began shooting for new work. Throughout her trip, Lahti kept a photo journal of images taken with her mobile phone. You can take a look at the journal on her Facebook page. Traveling to Eastern Canada?  Lahti also has a blog where she shares ideas for places to go, things to do, and other fun travel tips.


Photographer and Film Maker Stephen Alvarezhas recently completed a large European Panorama project. Check out his blog to learn more about his techniques and travel.

FotoDC Education Coordinator E. Brady Robinson’s work will be shown at Randall Scott Projects as a part of Untitled No. 3. Exhibition, which opens this Friday, August 31 from 6 pm - 10pm. Open through September 2.
