On the opening weekend of the Newseum’s newest exhibit, “The Eyes of History,” Associated Press photographer Charles Dharapak talks about and displays his award-winning photography. The exhibit opens Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, on the Newseum’s Concourse Level.
Dharapak was named 2012 Still Photographer of the Year by the White House News Photographers Association in its annual contest. He covered war, conflict and the rise of Muslim extremism overseas before moving to Washington in 2003 to chronicle the White House and national politics. He has covered the administrations of Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
“The Eyes of History” was created in cooperation with the White House News Photographers Association. The photographic prints in the exhibit have been generously provided by National Geographic Imaging.
The program is free with regular paid admission. Seating is on a space-available basis.
