From the White House to war zones, the photographers of the White House News Photographers Association capture newsmaking moments across the nation and around the world.
Founded in 1921, the WHNPA has served as “the eyes of history” for 91 years. “The Eyes of History 2012” will be on display through March 29, 2013.
What: The Newseum showcases the best of these images in “The Eyes of History 2012,” a new exhibit featuring award-winning photographs, video and new media from the WHNPA’s annual competition. “The Eyes of History 2012” highlights more than 70 photographs of the people and events that shaped the world in 2011. The exhibit also includes Newseum-produced videos featuring interviews with the winning photographers.
Who: Visitors with a deeper understanding of the unique and critical role the First Amendment plays in the nation’s history, its present and its future.
