National Eyes of History Contest - more info!

We want to make sure that all of our own members have the details on the new National Eyes of History contest!

Q: Does the new contest replace the Eyes of History?

A: Absolutely not! The National Eyes of History is a politics-only photojournalism contest we’re hosting as a way to promote political photojournalism nation-wide, raise the WHNPA’s national profile, and to have some fun competing against the rest of the country with our best work. The categories in the national contest are strictly politics-only. We will still look forward to all of our WHNPA members entering the Eyes of History, to compete amongst ourselves in all of the categories you have come to know and love — politics, sports, features, international news, and so on — and to crown our own champion as always.

Q: Are there separate entry fees for the two contests?

A: Yes. The entry process for our annual Eyes of History will be the same as it has for the past few years. You should enter the National Eyes of History at: http://www.whnpa.org/nationaleyes

Q: As a WHNPA member, am I eligible to enter the National Eyes of History at the reduced “pre-registration” rate I’ve been hearing about?

A: ABSOLUTELY! Until October 15, everyone is eligible to enter for the inaugural pre-registration rate of $20.12 and avoid the full fee of $35 you will otherwise pay at the entry deadline.

Q: Should I encourage my friends and co-workers elsewhere in the country to enter the National Eyes of History?

A: Please do! The whole point of the new contest is to create a robust competition for political photojournalism that resonates FAR outside the Beltway. We want to see — and compete against — the best work from around the country!
