Some important information for WHNPA members:
NEW BOARD MEMBERS ELECTED Congratulations to Matthew Cavanaugh (EPA) and Allison Shelley (The Washington Times) who will replace Nikki Kahn and Jim Watson as Still Representatives to the Executive Board of WHNPA! Thank you to Nikki and Jim for all your hard work!
STUDENT COMMITTEE: CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS The first meeting of the Student Committee for the Eyes of History Contest will be held in the next two weeks. If you would like to join and help us shape the rules and requirements for the Student Competition for the contest in 2008 please email jamie@jamierose.net as soon as possible.
AMY HOSKINS DELIVERS A BABY BOY Amy Hoskins, the Senate Press
Photographers Gallery Assistant Director, had a little boy on March 18,
2007. His name is Thomas Reynolds Hoskins, Jr., weighing in at 8 lbs. 9
oz. Both mother and baby are doing well! We will have a congratulations
card to sign in the 317 Gallery on Capitol Hill for the next week.
SECOND TUESDAY LUNCHEONS
The WHNPA Second Tuesday luncheons will begin on April 10th! The luncheon is just a good time for senior WHNPA members to enjoy seeing old friends on a regular basis, but every WHNPA member is invited. It will be at noon at the Capitol Lounge, 229 Pennsylvania Ave, SE (In the first block of Pennsylvania Ave., next to the Madison Library of Congress Building and the Canon House Office Building. Dinner and we encourage you to buy your tickets today! Please log onto
www.whnpa.org for all the details and information on purchasing tickets.
We have not opened up online sales yet and they may NOT be due to the
ticket demand already. Contact Heidi immediately if you need more
information.
Remember, DO NOT invite your guests until you receive confirmation that
there is space for you and please make every effort to have your tickets
in advance of the event. You are responsible for getting your tickets to
your guests. This year there will be numbered tickets to avoid “party
crashers” and insure that the assigned seats are available for late
arriving guests There will be NO seating without a numbered ticket.
Period. This helps everyone. You and your guests will also NOT be
eligible for a special drawing that we are planning this year dinner
without this ticket. You will have to be present with the ticket in hand
to win — so plan accordingly!!!!
LAST CHANCE If you haven’t submitted your images of you or other WHNPA
members at work please send them to heidi@whnpa.org. Don’t forget the
funny stories either.
