** SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM NIKON - INAUGURATION 2009**
In support of credentialed media photographers for the 2009 Presidential Inauguration on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, Nikon Professional Service (NPS) will operate a limited loaner depot Saturday, Jan. 17 and Sunday, Jan. 18 (10am to 5pm) at the Washington Post newspaper located 1150 15th Street NW, in Washington, DC.
NPS is tentatively scheduled to operate from the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Monday, Jan. 19 for photographers credentialed for the U.S. Capitol. Both locations will have a Nikon service tech for cleaning and checking Nikon cameras and lenses.
Due to the anticipated increased traffic and security measures associated with the Inauguration, Nikon has a limited the amount of loaner gear for this event.
Many NPS members requested loaner gear ahead of time from the NPS office in New York. Please return those loans using the provided shipping labels and documentation as the depot will not handle those NPS loans.
The purpose of the NPS depot is to provide emergency loaners for this event. Due to the tight security, the Dirksen Senate Office Building may only have a service tech and a few camera bodies. To access both locations, you must contact Mark Suban at msuban@nikon.net so security access can be planned. All loans are first come first serve and must be turned in at the Washington Post location starting at 7:00 pm Tuesday, Jan. 20 or early Wednesday morning. Details on returns will be discussed at the time of the loan.
If you have questions, please let me know.
Thank you,
