The night is shaping up to be spectacular, highlighting Lifetime Achievement Recipient Ron Edmonds, Video gurus Dai Baker and Chris Shlemon from ITN, Political and National contest winner Brooks Kraft, Photographer of the Year freelancer Patrick Smith, and the 2013 Student Scholarship winner, Meg Roussos, who just graduated from Ohio University.

HELP needed urgently for goodie bag staging and assembly. This Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m, we will organize and prepare our gift bags for distribution at the gala. Many hands and strong bodies are needed!!! We have hundreds of boxes to unload and unpack. Your association thrives on its volunteers.
You can also purchase your raffle tickets for the NIKON D800 camera body at this time, too! No standing in line at the gala. Remember, each $10 chance goes to support the WHNPA scholarship! Not coming to the gala and still want a chance to win? Reach out to one of you colleagues who is coming and have them buy the tickets for you!
Tickets can be picked up at the Ritz Carlton after noon on Friday or by letting me know of another arrangement that works better for you. Please make every effort to pickup your tickets ahead of Saturday night. The hotel has asked that we limit “will call” as it creates a bit too much congestion and confusion for those arriving.
Your tickets will look a bit different this year, but rest assured, they are numbered and you’ll need them on your person in order to win a pair of United Airline tickets!!!!

Stephen R Brown’s exhibition of 82 prints at Arlington Cemetery on June 12, 2013 6-8 pm. Parking is available upon rsvp to his studio (srb@srbphoto.com) or (jane@srbphoto.com). The show will consist of images of the WWII Memorial in 20 x 30 and 30 x40 prints and be mostly from his book on the WWII Memorial. There are seven panels and one of them will contain images of WWIII women vets from eight years of photographing Honor Flights.

Hi WHNPA team,
I’d like to invite you to get inspired by the powerful and compelling stories created by my first “Advanced Video Storytelling” team at University of Maryland on Wednesday, May 8th at 7pm in Eaton Theater. The students have been producing natural sound packages on a common theme, and creating the first HD productions to come out of Merrill College. You met Evan, Christine, Ana, Terrence, Jessie, Julia, Catherine and Louie at the WHNPA judging in February and at our meeting on campus in December.

I know how busy you are with all the breaking news of late, however your RSVP deadline for the 2013 WHNPA ‘ Eyes of History’ awards gala is next week!
I have just received a Nikon D800 for the camera raffle AND United Airlines will again offer 2 sets of round trip tickets that will get you to some of the most exotic destinations they fly! Not to mention some goodie bags that everyone will be taking home!
Many of our first place winners just enjoyed a visit with the President in the Oval Office and next, the winners will be featured at the gala on May 11. In addition we will honor our military winners (7th time for MSgt. Jeremy Lock) and Lifetime Achievement recipient, Ron Edmonds.

The Annual WHNPA Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, May 10. We NEED golfers at ALL skill levels… lots fun & prizes. I’m thinking of coming out and driving a cart…
